Title: Press Release: The Capital Markets Authority and the Capital Markets Academy Celebrate the Eighth Training and Qualification Program for the Recent Graduates

Kuwait, April 29, 2025 – The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in cooperation with the Capital Markets Academy – Kuwait organized a ceremony honoring the graduates of "Eighth Program for Training and Qualifying the Recent Graduates" on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the presence of Mr. Emad Tifouni -Chairman of CMA Board of Commissioners - Managing Director, Members of the CMA Board of Commissioners, and the Board of Trustees of the Capital Markets Academy.

The ceremony commenced with an introduction to the program and the role of both the CMA and the Capital Markets Academy in supporting and honing the skills of the Kuwaiti young graduates through this program, which is considered one of the most important social responsibility programs offered in the State of Kuwait.

Cooperation with Harvard University: Quantum Leap of the Program

Under the umbrella of the Capital Markets Academy and the academy’s management, represented by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Rasheed Al-Bader - the acting General Manager of the Capital Markets Academy, the program offered trainees the opportunity to acquire various theoretical and practical skills related to the capital markets, in addition to field and external training which enriched their global exposure. This initiative is an important opportunity for the recent graduates to enhance their professional and technical skills in the capital markets field.

As a quantum leap, the Capital Markets Academy hosted Harvard University in the State of Kuwait for the first time, as the intensive training program included lectures by distinguished professors and financial experts, in addition to remote field trips to key financial institutions, such as Nasdaq, New York Stock Exchange, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. This cooperation enhanced the educational value of the program and enabled the trainees to acquire knowledge from best academics and experts in the capital markets and sustainability field.

The Capital Markets Academy’s Commitment to Develop the National Cadres

The General Manager of the Academy expressed his pride of the Academy’s achievement in the successful completion of this program, and confirmed that the Academy continues providing training programs that aim to enhance the skills of the Kuwaiti youth in the financial fields and focuses on keeping pace with the international developments of the capital markets. He added that the program is an important step towards developing the professional abilities of the national and specialized cadres in the capital markets field, and confirmed the commitment to provide further initiatives that aim to empower the Kuwaiti youth in the local and international labor market.

Conclusion of the Program: Approved Certificate by the Capital Markets Academy and Harvard University.

At the end of the training program, the trainees obtained an approved certificate by the Capital Markets Academy and Harvard University. This certificate adds significant value to the graduates’ resume  that qualify them to efficiently engage in the financial business market.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.

Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
