Title: Press Release: The Capital Markets Academy Launches its First Training Program

Kuwait, October 13, 2024 - The Capital Markets Authority’s (CMA) continuous efforts over the past three-years within the framework of its strategic project to establish a knowledge entity specialized in the capital markets, later named “Capital Markets Academy”, have begun to bear fruits. The Academy has launched  its training season for the year 2024-2025 and has introduced its first qualification training program entitled “Laws and Regulations of the Capital Markes Authority – State of Kuwait”. This program is scheduled to take place from October 20 – 24,2024 at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa. The training program aims to enable the participants to understand and comprehend the regulations of the securities market and the regulations of the Capital Markets Authority of the State of Kuwait, particularly applicable to the securities’ investors, licensed persons, listed companies, collective investment schemes, registered persons, etc.

This program is considered the gateway to knowledge of the laws and regulations of the Capital Markets Authority – State of Kuwait. The targeted groups are diverse and include:  licensed persons’ registered positions and employment positions, employees of capital markets authorities and similar supervisory entities, employees of companies listed in securities exchanges, in addition to various society segments and the public interested in capital markets topics.

It is worth noting that the project of establishing the Capital Markets Academy is one of the projects included in the development plan of the State of Kuwait. It  represents a knowledge-based direction of the CMA that has long-term strategic objectives which effectively contribute to developing the capital markets sector through a knowledge entity specialized in education and professional training in accordance with the best international standards in terms resources, experiences, knowledge, and the skills required for this sector in order to serve the workforce of the entities licensed by the CMA in particular, and all the capital markets’ investors in general. This will raise awareness of fields related to the capital markets, which contributes to upgrading the qualification, knowledge, and awareness reality related to securities activities and will leave positive implications on our economic and societal reality in general.

The Capital Markets Academy is a non-profit educational and training institution focused on securities markets, with an  independent legal personality. It is regulated  and supervised by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA). It aims to develop the knowledge-based economy related to the securities activities sector, qualify the human cadres working in this sector and enhance their capabilities to help improve  the efficiency of local capital markets.
