Title: Amendment to Article (1-1-2) of Module Thirteen (Collective Investment Schemes) of the Executive Bylaws of the Law No. 7 of 2010 and their Amendments Concerning the Regulation of Saving and Insurance Funds and Programs

Kuwait, 2 April 2025  - Based on the pursuit of developing the legislative and regulatory frameworks in accordance with the latest directions of the capital markets, and in order to update the current legislative, regulatory, and supervisory practices in line with the emerging topics and practices concerned with financial markets, and to protect the investors’ rights in the State of Kuwait in the insurance products related to collective investment schemes to avoid committing undesirable consequences as a result of investing in such funds and programs.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) issued today, Wednesday 02/04/2025 Resolution No. (54) of 2025 Regarding Amendment to Article (1-1-2) of Module Thirteen (Collective Investment Schemes) of the Executive Bylaws of the Law No. 7 of 2010 and their Amendments Concerning the Regulation of Saving and Insurance Funds and Programs.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.

Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
